DC Comics publishes Supergirl #39 this week, continuing the Infected storyline started by the literal stupidest character ever created, The Batman Who Laughs. We've got a preview for you below.

In which we see the United States government reacting to Kara's takeover of Smallville.

The government has a lot of priorities to juggle right now. There's Leviathan. There's Superman's secret identity. Thank goodness they've already put that whole impeachment mess behind them.

And so the U.S. is considering using technology created by Lex Luthor to take out Supergirl.

Even if Wonder Woman is already on the case.

Though it appears even Wonder Woman is no match for this Supergirl.

Supergirl #39 hits stores on Wednesday.

After the Lasso of Truth reveals something unexpected about Supergirl's infection, Wonder Woman is quickly running out of ways to try to bring Kara back peacefully.
