The Big Heroes In Crisis #8 Reveal – and Spoilers
Once upon a time, Bleeding Cool ran what was purported to be a spoiler for the opening of Heroes In Crisis by Tom King and Clay Mann, revealing what we thought was a shocking opener and revealing the identity of the big mysterious mass murderer in the series, and the manner in which they killed everyone at Sanctuary.
At the time, that wasn't even known about the series. Then, when it was published, the mass murder of the patients at Sanctuary was there as predicted, but the culprit and the method was a mystery.
We were told since that our original story was bang on – but that DC Comics editorial were looking for a different structure. And what was originally a From Hell-comic-book-style whydunnit, became a From Hell-movie-style whodunnit.
And as a result, our article, rather than talking about an opening scene, would contain a reveal much further towards the end of the series. Which wasn't actually our intent.
Oops.
There were internal DC-discussions about changing the story again as a result of said spoilers. But the wiser decision to let the story stand was taken – after all, hundreds of thousands will read Heroes In Crisis, only tens of thousands (if that) will have read the Bleeding Cool article.
Well, penultimate Heroes In Crisis #8 is out on Wednesday and all will be revealed. Those who wanted the spoiler can compare and contrast. Others can come back to the article after the issue to see what we did – and didn't – get in out our original piece…
