The Fall of Skywalker in Star Wars #1 [Preview]

The Rise of Skywalker is currently in theaters, doing great or terrible, depending on your political inclinations because that's the sad world we live in these days. Meanwhile, at Marvel, the newly relaunched Star Wars title debuts in Star Wars #1, by Charles Soule and Jesus Saiz, and we've got a preview below.

Which gives us an opening crawl set right after the end of Empire Strikes Back…

And reliving that movie's final moments…

…as Luke Skywalker falls after learning a shocking fact about his parentage.

Of course, we know what happens next. Luke is rescued by the Millennium Falcon.

But there's where the comic begins to fill in the blanks between Empire and Return of the Jedi.

As Chewbacca makes a compelling argument as to the value of Luke.

And we even get an extra page beyond the ones we saw in the first look at this comic.

Star Wars #1 hits stores on Wednesday, January 1st.
