The Wicked + The Divine #18 Gets A New Cover, A Teaser And A Jumping-On Point…

Kieron Gillen writes on Tumblr (I mean, of course he does, this is not news) about the return of The Wicked + The Divine to comic book shelves after a wee break to get Phonogram out of the door.

The FOC date is Monday, which is the last date that retailers can increase or decrease orders for The Wicked + The Divine #18 without incurring financial penalty. Obviously he'd rather they increase orders.

Don't know how to pre-order? Here's a comic where I explain it. In short, speak to your retailer and say you want it. If they ask for the order codes, it's FEB160561 for the first cover and FEB160562 for the alternate cover.

Yes, you haven't seen the alternate cover yet, have you? It'll be online later. It's fun.

And, courtesy of me bumping into Kieron in the pub last night, here it is.

image1You can buy such contact lenses you know, just in time for cosplay season. As the comic's solicitation text reads,

An ideal jumping-on point. Persephone, live. The question is, will it be for more than one night? Don't call it a comeback, as JAMIE McKELVIE and MATT WILSON return to THE WICKED + THE DIVINE for the most rock-and-roll everything-explodes arc of the hit series.

He emphasises the jumping on bit.

We've also spent some time trying to make this work as a clean jumping on point for those who want to try the book, whether or not you've read any of the previous trades. It's certainly a good time to get on board if you've been following the trades. This one motors.

(The first issue is slightly longer than usual as well. We wanted to return big. It's been so long.)

So there you go, clean open, more pages. And here's their teaser if you really did want to be brought up to speed…
