Wizard World Pulls Back In 2012

A PR piece purporting to announce a location change of Wizard World Toronto Comic Con to the Metro Toronto Convention Centre for April 14th to 15th also managed to disguise a number of other changes to the 2012 Wizard World Schedule.

This is how it stood a couple of weeks ago

November 11-13 – Austin Comic Con
January 28-29, 2012 – New Orleans Comic Con
March 24-25, 2012 – Toronto Comic Con
May 19-20, 2012 – Big Apple Comic Con
June 1-3, 2012 – Philadelphia Comic Con
August 9-12, 2012 – Chicago Comic Con
TBD – Los Angeles Comic Con

The Spring Big Apple Comic Con in 2012 seems to have gone. Los Angeles seems to have gone. There's still no New England Show despite buying the convention last year. There's no Anaheim, Cleveland, Cincinnati, Nashville, New Jersey or Central Canada Con in Winnipeg planned for 2012 either. But there will be a Mid Ohio Con again. Sometime…

I've heard word that it's the comic conventions across the country that are keeping Wizard World well and truly in the black and that they will be investing further in future shows as a result. But cutting dates doesn't exactly inspire confidence in this kind of thing.
