X-Men Editors Answer The Off-Space Question – With Emojis
For a few months now, Bleeding Cool reported that the initial post-Secret Wars plan was for the Inhuman Terrigen mists to prove deadly to mutantkind. To force the mutants off the planet, to the moon Europa, save for a few who were able, through their powers, to stay behind in the Extraordinary X-Men title.
That was when Mike Marts was Group Editor and Rick Remender was to be head writer. But things changed.
And while the threat of the mists remained, the space exodus still seemed up in the air.
Over on CBR's X-Position roundup of X-Men editors, with questions put to them, the space exodus rumour was brought up (no mention of Bleeding Cool though, awww….) with assistant editor Christine Harrington answering.
primetime21 wants to know if you can put one persistent rumor to rest.
Is the rumored plotline about the X-Men going off world still viable or has it been scrapped?
Harrington: I wish I could answer this with emojis! Like, the sly smiling one? Or maybe the devil head? Read and find out, True Believer!
Like this, Christine? It dies both!
Of course, one other answer given asking about increasing diversity in the X-Men cast of characters, and while listing a number that may not have been apparent, X-Men editor Daniel Ketchum also replied "We also have an abundance of blue characters?"
That kind of thing doesn't usually go down too well…
