Pokémon GO Has Earned Over $1.8 Billion in Revenue
Like it or hate it, Pokémon GO has basically become one of the most profitable gaming apps on the planet after two years of being active. The news of their current revenue stream comes to us from Sensor Tower, who have been carefully monitoring games like Niantic's to see just how well they perform in general. Based off their most recent tallies, Pokémon GO has surpassed the $1.8 billion mark and is continually rising.
This data comes from global figures, with the U.S. leading the cash flow at $607 million with Japan not too far behind at $500 million. It was also able to determine that Android users made up 58% of that revenue with iOS users making up the other 42%.
Germany, Great Britain, and Taiwan round out the top five contributors, making the app the #1 downloaded game in over 30 countries worldwide. Despite having some very public setbacks in the eyes of the fans, it appears that the game itself is still very lucrative and works well with the public. But with titles like Fortnite slowly climbing the charts, one has to wonder how long they'll be able to stay on top and if the money train they've been riding the past two years will start to slow down.
