Amy Pascal Doesn't Rule Out a Live-Action Miles Morales
Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse is easily one of the best-animated movies of all time. It wasn't a surprise that not only was the movie good it also won pretty much every award it was nominated for and did commercially well. There was a sequel and a spin-off announced almost right away which isn't a surprise. People were a little worried when producers of Into the Spider-Verse Phil Lord and Chris Miller struck a first-look deal with Sony TV. Did that mean future Spider-Verse content would be on TV and not in the theaters? Producer Amy Pascal was recently interviewed by Fandango and she assured that future Spider-Verse adventures would be on the big screen.
"Well, of course it's going to be on the big screen and it's going to be about Miles," she said.
While Into the Spider-Verse introduced the world to Miles Morales fans were wondering if the presence of an animated Miles meant that a live-action one wasn't going to happen. Pascal said that that isn't the case and a live-action Miles could happen someday.
"No, I don't think you should exclude [Miles from a live-action movie]," Pascal said. "I think you should assume there is nothing to exclude."
The Spider-Man movies are in an interesting place right now. Venom was a critical bomb but it did extremely well at the box office and there are a lot of interesting projects in development. It'll be interesting to see where Sony goes with these characters next.
