Before He Met Captain Marvel Nick Fury Had a "Boring" Desk Job

Even SHIELD agents like Nick Fury can be people we can relate to. We've all had a job where every second we're sitting there is incredibly boring. According to Empire and Captain Marvel star Samuel L. Jackson explained that before he met Captain Marvel Nick Fury had a boring desk job and the knowledge that aliens exist really changed his life.

"He's been out of the army for a while, and he's no basically riding a desk in the newly created S.H.I.E.L.D.," Samuel L. Jackson tells Empire. "He's kind of bored! He doesn't go in the field and do a lot of stuff. He's doing threat assessment, and there's not a lot of ways to do that that are exciting."

Captain Marvel doesn't just help Fury find a new lease on life but he also helps Carol remember her past. It bonds the two characters together in a very important way and helps connect Carol back to the home she has forgotten.

"The fact he helps her rediscover her history bonds them in a very real and genuine way," Jackson says. "He becomes an integral part of who she is and how she sees the rest of the universe."

Fury has been in the Marvel Cinematic Universe since the beginning but as the years have gone by he's played a smaller and smaller role. While Captain Marvel might be a prequel it'll be fun to see characters like Fury and Coulson on the big screen again.

Summary: Carol Danvers becomes one of the universe's most powerful heroes when Earth is caught in the middle of a galactic war between two alien races.

Captain Marvel, directed by Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck, will also star Brie Larson, Jude Law, Gemma Chan, Djimon Hounsou, Lee Pace, Lashana Lynch, Samuel L. Jackson. The film is set for release on March 8th, 2019.
