One of the things announced at the CW's presentation during the Television Critics Assocation 2015 was the development of a new series based on the Friday the 13th franchise. Word is that the new take on the hockey-masked killer would be to make him more grounded in reality. You'd still have Jason Vorhees and Camp Crystal Lake… but it would be more of a sophisticated, horror/crime thriller focused on a detective trying to find his missing brother. The script is being worked on by Steve Mitchell and Craig Van Sickle, the creators of the television series The Pretender.
