Doctor Strange Will Not Appear in Spider-Man: Far From Home
Well here's something you don't see every day. If there is one thing Marvel Studios and everyone who has ever worked for them is really good at, it's evading questions. The "Marvel snipers" are a joke for a reason, and it's very rare that anyone will answer with a definitive yes or no when it comes to future movies. Well, it turns out never say never, because SlashFilm managed to get Kevin Feige to actually confirm something.
Spider-Man: Far From Home was (sort of) announced, and we know that Peter Parker is going to be leaving New York for other locations in the world. The movie is going to shoot in London and would have scenes in London, so interviewer Peter Sciretta remembered something Feige said in the past.
And you've also said in the past that the plan for these Spider-Man movies is to kind of have another Marvel cameo in each one kind of like you did with Tony Stark.
I did?
Ha, I thought you did in some older interview.
It's in the MCU so yeah.
I'm wondering 'cause London…there is a sanctum there. Is Doctor Strange gonna be the one in this one?
No.
No?
I could be coy about it, but no.
[shocked that he gave a direct response] Okay.
I don't wanna get people excited. But Benedict and Holland have liked the idea of working together.
Well done, Peter; you got a definitive answer from Kevin Feige. We're not sure how many people have actually managed to do that. So no Mighty Marvel Team-Up between Spider-Man and Doctor Strange for this movie, but we'll (probably) see them in the Avengers 4 next May even if they aren't on the cast list.
Untitled Avengers Movie / Avengers 4, directed by Anthony and Joe Russo, stars Robert Downey Jr., Josh Brolin, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Jeremy Renner, Chris Pratt, Chadwick Boseman, Benedict Wong, Zoe Saldana, Karen Gillan, Vin Diesel, Scarlett Johansson, Don Cheadle, Sean Gunn, Brie Larson, Evangeline Lilly, Paul Rudd, Jon Favreau, Gwyneth Paltrow, and Ty Simpkins. It will be released on May 3rd, 2019.
