Four Minute Cold Opening For Galavant
ABC is trying something very different, a medieval musical comedy called Galavant. The 8-episode first season stars Joshua Sasse (Rogue), Timothy Omundson (Psych), Vinnie Jones (Elementary), Mallory Jansen (Young & Hungry), Karen David (Waterloo Road) and Luke Youngblood (Community) with special guest appearances by Ricky Gervais, John Stamos, Rutger Hauer and Weird Al Yankovic.
This seems to be ABC's new thing, to do mid-season series like this and Marvel's Agent Carter. The interesting thing here is to not only see how well the shows do as fillers for Agents of SHIELD or in Galavant's case, Once Upon A Time… but also to see what ABC does with them if they are successful. Do they come back in the same format or do the move on to be full season shows?
Galavant Premieres January 4th.
