Gears Of War Cinematic Director Leaving Epic Games To Return To Series
I've heard many stories from AAA developers who burn out on franchises. Usually, if a game is successful, once a it launches the studio is already turning its eyes to a sequel. This cycle can leave a developer working on one property for nearly 10 years sometimes.
On the other hand, some developers love this. For Gears of War cinematic director, Greg M. Mitchell, that seems to be the case.
Mitchell has left Epic Games, who sold the rights to Gears of War to Microsoft, to work on for the franchise's new caretakers Black Tusk Studios. He tweeted the news saying:
BIG NEWS!! I'm leaving Epic, but heading to @blacktuskstudio to work on #Gearsofwar!! I'll quote Marcus Fenix, by saying "NICE!!" :)

Gears of War has always been a favorite of mine. The cinematic cutscenes, that can actually hold an emotional weight, are a huge part of that. Seeing that same talent dealing with what ever Gears of War 4 looks like is a welcome return.
