Marvel Producer Calls the Post-Avengers 4 Stories "Refreshing" and "Surprising"

The details about what the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe is going to look like are kind of hard to grasp right now. Marvel Studios is keeping their cards pretty close to the chest when it comes to what movies we're going to see but they are making big promises. According to Nate Moore, who spoke to Screen Rant, we're looking at the opportunity to say "goodbye" but also bringing in new and exciting stories.

I think it's an opportunity for us to bid a fond farewell to characters that we've come to know for a while, but to also then introduce characters who are going to feel completely new and hopefully surprising to both our core fans and fans of our movies who aren't as well-versed in publishing. There are great ideas out there that we've talked about internally that I think and I hope will be surprising and refreshing to audiences while we still continue to explore characters we've come to love. The new ones always feel really exciting because they can be anything. We're at the point now where we're blue-skying, what are the best stories to tell, and in that blue sky there are ideas that I think all of us get really excited to share with people.

MCU

At the moment we know of several movies that are coming out after Avengers 4. The sequel to Spider-Man: Homecoming comes out on July 5, 2019. We know that James Gunn is working on Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 which is due to come out in about two years. We know that Marvel has commissioned a script for a Black Widow movie and has met with directors for the project. We also know that they just hired someone to write a script for Eternals. We can assume some sequels are on the way too such as Black Panther 2 or Captain Marvel 2 but nothing is confirmed just yet. At the moment we don't even know what Avengers 4 is called so we can only work off of speculation and not much else right now.

Summary: As the Avengers and their allies have continued to protect the world from threats too large for any one hero to handle, a new danger has emerged from the cosmic shadows: Thanos. A despot of intergalactic infamy, his goal is to collect all six Infinity Stones, artifacts of unimaginable power, and use them to inflict his twisted will on all of reality. Everything the Avengers have fought for has led up to this moment – the fate of Earth and existence itself has never been more uncertain.

Avengers: Infinity War, directed by Anthony and Joe Russo, stars Robert Downey Jr., Josh Brolin, Mark Ruffalo, Tom Hiddleston, Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Jeremy Renner, Chris Pratt, Elizabeth Olsen, Sebastian Stan, Benedict Cumberbatch, Paul Bettany, Chadwick Boseman, Benedict Wong, Zoe Saldana, Karen Gillan, Vin Diesel, Dave Bautista, Pom Klementieff, Scarlett Johansson, Don Cheadle, Tom Holland, Bradley Cooper, Sean Gunn, and Anthony Mackie. It's out now.
