New "Mulan" Behind-the-Scenes Featurette Teases the Scope of the Story

There is quite a bit riding on Mulan and not just because it has a $200 million budget minus marketing. The Disney remakes are doing well and there is a lot of pressure on this movie to continue that trend. The premiere was the other day and early social media reactions are on the positive side but it's still a little early to tell whether or not it will be a critical or commercial hit. The coronavirus is a real problem and the box office could take a hit. For now, Disney is keeping up the marketing with a new behind-the-scenes featurette.

When the Emperor of China issues a decree that one man per family must serve in the Imperial Army to defend the country from Northern invaders, Hua Mulan, the eldest daughter of an honored warrior, steps in to take the place of her ailing father. Mulan, directed by Niki Caro, stars Liu Yifei, Donnie Yen, Jet Li, Utkarsh Ambudkar, Yoson An, Xana Tang, Jason Scott Lee, and Ron Yuan. It will be released on March 27th, 2020.
