The Revenant: Tickets For The 10th Anniversary Screenings Go On Sale

Tickets for the 10th anniversary IMAX exclusive rerelease of Alejandro G. Iñárritu's The Revenant have officially gone on sale.

The rerelease market continues to be a thriving corner of the movie industry, which is just great. People discover movies on streaming services all the time that they would have loved to see on the big screen if they had known about them when they came out back in the day. A rerelease not only gets you that opportunity, but also a chance to likely experience it in a theater full of fans. The Revenant is often known as the film that finally got Leonardo DiCaprio an Oscar for acting after many years of near misses.

The Revenant is also a beautifully shot and well-made film from director Alejandro G. Iñárritu and cinematographer Emmanuel Lubezki, both of whom took Oscar gold for it. So while the trailer for the rerelease might be hyping up that infamous bear scene, there's a lot more here to check out. Tickets are officially on sale for the two-night limited run on Thursday, February 26, and Sunday, March 1, and will also be released internationally in the U.K., France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Australia, New Zealand, and Mexico. Iñárritu and DiCaprio are also set to participate in a special Q&A on February 26 at Regal Sherman Oaks Galleria.

The Making of The Revenant, a book created by Insight Editions (www.InsightEditions.com) in partnership with New Regency, is available exclusively in a limited run of 500 numbered copies signed by director Alejandro G. Iñárritu, actor Leonardo DiCaprio, and cinematographer Emmanuel "Chivo" Lubezki, commemorating the Academy Award®–winning film's 10th anniversary. The Revenant, which stars Leonardo DiCaprio and Tom Hardy, was released in 2015 and grossed over $532 million at the global box office. The re-release comes as DiCaprio returns to the awards spotlight with One Battle After Another, securing another acting nod.  The Revenant to return to theaters on February 26 and March 1 for a special 10th anniversary engagement.

The Revenant features a screenplay by Mark L. Smith and Alejandro G. Iñárritu based in part on the novel by Michael Punke, and is produced by Steve GolinAlejandro G. IñárrituArnon Milchan, and Mary Parent. The film, which is inspired by real events, tells the story of a frontiersman in the 1800s who is left for dead and must survive a brutal winter in the wilderness before returning to avenge his son's death.
