There's certainly a lot of sincere intentions in the Rise of Arsenal and it's possible that if it had been released in a different context it would have been considered an innovative exploration of grief and anger but it's hard to imagine what context could be.
Before Watchmen
Alan Moore and Dave Gibbon's Watchmen is a comic[...]

While the resulting comics hardly set the sales records DC must have been expecting and Before Watchmen seems fated to drift away into obscurity this story cemented once more Bleeding Cool as the leading source for comic news and gossip.
Authorship is Censorship – Bleeding Cool in Conversation with Shia Lebeouf
I had been following the Shia[...]
My history with Before Watchmen is a troubled one I didn't think the series was a great idea, and watched the spectacle of the multiple titles unfold in my local comic shop with some very mixed feelings There were excellent writers on the books, and even more excellent artists, many of whom I respected and[...]
ICV2, ask the question next year when it still hasn't been published….
The first Before Watchmen trades are coming out Did the periodical side meet your expectations?
Didio: Absolutely Realistically, when we went out there we had a certain expectation and it exceeded those expectations when it first launched. They maintained strong numbers all the way through. [...]

This week, DC is releasing the first of their Before Watchmen deluxe edition hardcovers. They're formatted to match the recent deluxe edition reissue of the original Watchmen graphic novel, and it's clear from the trade dress and design that they're doing their best to present these not as after-the-fact[...]
In case anyone missed Taylor Ramsey's interview the other day, Len Wein talked about exactly what happened with the Before Watchmen Epilogue that DC Comics withdrew from their schedules, but also the reasons he left the Crimson Corsair back up strip intended to run through the back of all the Before Watchmen comics but in[...]
This is not an easy thing to do as Wein has been in the industry for four decades and has been the subject of renewed interest in recent months, having made a major contribution to DC's Before Watchmen comics, writing Ozymandias and Crimson Corsair.
After we got comfy at his table in Artist's Alley, we began[...]
Gavin Lees writes;
Jae Lee made a rare convention appearance at this year's Emerald City Comicon, so I took the opportunity to speak to him about his work on the controversial Before Watchmen series, and what he has planned for the upcoming Superman and Batman series for DC. Jae graciously answered my questions while entertaining a[...]
Retailers have been warned that Before Watchmen: Doctor Manhattan #4 will feature several pages "printed upside down" but that "This is part of the storytelling, and should not be considered an error."
Probably goes for consumers as well…

Apparently we shouldn't have counted Before Watchmen Comedian or
But basically it is as it was last week… but do notice Boom's first entry with their own original comics into the top 100 with Deathmatch, Image's bedding down Walking Dead in the top 30 and Saga fiding a spot in the top sixty alongside My Little[...]

Before Watchmen: Dr Manhattan #3 (Variant) by Neal Adams
Choosing this cover came to be a surprise for me While I appreciate the contributions Neal Adams has made to the comics medium, his style in recent years has been pretty hit-or-miss for me (i.e Batman: Odyssey) That being said, he's totally[...]
Flashbacks and a narration from an ex-lover provide us the context and even a love story across, well, greater boundaries that have ever been… crossed before.
Before Watchmen: Dr Manhattan begins to put it all back in the box All the myriad of parallel universe that have been spilling out, trying to repair the resultant realities[...]
It's simple, adorable, and Harrison's tip of the hat to Miyazaki is well played.
Before Watchmen: Silk Spectre #4 (Variant) by Bruce Timm
I swooned so hard when I saw this cover Who isn't a fan of Bruce Timm?? He just knows how to illustrate women, and his specialty is gorgeous crime fighters I'm still kicking myself[...]
Bleeding Cool Magazine article by Rich Johnston.
Before Watchmen Sandman Zero DC Comics is going back to the past, revisiting the holy of holies to uncover new riches With or without the original creators But after these two monuments, what could be next? Well I've been sent a rather spurious document that may shed some light[...]
Before Watchmen: Moloch #1 is out today from Joe Michael Straczynski and Eduardo Risso, telling the story of Watchmen's Moloch, from child freak to magician to mobster But it reminded me of something else… remember this?
Well, it's not too far from what happened to Moloch We start with an insult, though in this case, it's[...]
We are getting seriously close to Before Watchmen: Multi-Legged Chicken Waitress here…
DC Comics have announced a new Before Watchmen comic concentrated on Dollar Bill, the bank-sponsored superhero of the Minutemen, who died during a bank robbery when his cape was caught in a revolving door.
Did I just spoil the end?
MTV reports the comic will be[...]

Before Watchmen: Dr Manhattan #2 by Adam Hughes
Being inspired from the sci-fi publications of old, Hughes thrills me to no end with this cover depicting two familiar characters in a seemingly familiar genre The explanation of Dr Manhattan's origin as some sort[...]
Very gorgeous cover, with Adam Hughes once again showing why he's a master at illustrating women.
Before Watchmen: Rorschach #2 (Variant) by Jock
I wasn't impressed with the main cover, but this variant cover by Jock is fucking awesome! It's like Edvard Munch's The Scream for comic books, because you can really see the horror and intensity[...]
For a lot of people, Before Watchmen is a violation of the canonization of the original classic.
Dave Gibbons recently made a few headlines when he said Before Watchmen was "really not canon." Alan Moore turned down a "couple of million dollars" to give the prequels his blessing.
That's fine, it's evident the creators involved in Before[...]
Moloch seems to be present in so many of the Before Watchmen comics, it was about time he got his own title, stepping in to help out on delays to the Nite Owl series, after inker Joe Kubert's passing.
Although from the look of this cover by Eduardo Risso for issue 1, he does seem to[...]
ICV2 interviewed Bob Wayne and John Cunningham of DC Comics, and asked them the question I was unable to get a response from DC over, regarding the rumoured Man Of Steel series Bleeding Cool first made mention of…
Let me put on my fanboy hat and ask if you can confirm the rumors that Scott Snyder will[...]
Err, badass! Awfully badass, and manly, and…stuff.
Before Watchmen: Silk Spectre #3 by Amanda Conner & Paul Mounts
This cover really brings the room together, man Focusing on the continuing adventures of a young Silk Spectre in the swinging sixties, we witness young Laurie on her first drug trip it appears It's the colors that really standout,[...]
Be warned.
Before Watchmen: Silk Spectre is the one book that has stuck to the famous Watchmen nine panel grid, which pays off this issue as Laurie gets all loved up on LSD and her world starts to twist and turn Still, by far, the most beautiful looking book in the project, and it reads at[...]
This character that JMS is creating here in BEFORE WATCHMEN DR MANHATTAN #1, may be rehashing the events of the Watchmen series, but is instead looking at the world as an array of endless possibilities One was eternally a slave to his perception of predestination, the other is enamoured by his complete freedom of alternate[...]

At the Before Watchmen panel at Fan Expo Canada, DC Comics have just announced a new two issue mini-series as part of the Before Watchmen project entitled Before Watchmen: Moloch, by Joe Michael Straczynski and Eduardo Risso The first issue will appear, as a surprise solicitation,[...]
It was the description from the C2E2 panel on Before Watchmen, describing the opening or Rorschach #1 by Brian Azzarello and Lee Bermejo as "Rorschach's face in the clouds".
Well, with the comic shipping on Wednesday, certain copies seem to be escaping into the wild So here's that shot, from page two of Rorschach #1 What[...]
