Garfield in Paradise Garfield and Mai-Tai Production Cel Setup with Animation Drawing (Film Roman, 1986).

Garfield has an alluring companion in this scene from the climax of the Emmy-nominated special Garfield in Paradise. The image of the two cats can be found at about the 19:30 mark of this special. This image comes from the action-packed climax of this special, as Jon, his two pets, and a group of islanders try to figure out how to appease an angry volcano before it destroys them all! These two original hand-painted 12 field production cels are marked in their lower right corners with G-1 and L-1. Also included with this group is an original animation drawing that was used to create the cel of the two cats. The drawing is created with graphite and colored pencil on 12 field animation paper, and it contains a color model used to tell Ink and Paint what colors should go where on the cel. What a dramatic piece! This setup and drawing are in Very Good condition, with some handling and edge wear.

Garfield fans can now get this listing from the Jim Davis Collection right now on Heritage Auctions. Best of luck to everyone aiming to bring home this original production cel.
