'Happy!' Season 2: So Remember That Time Christopher Meloni Mooned NYC? [VIDEO]

If there's one thing that can be said about SYFY's second season of Happy!, it's definitely not a repeat of the first season's mind-blowers – and that's saying a helluva' lot. To "Make Easter Great Again," the cast and crew behind the Grant Morrison/Darick Robertson comic book adaptation have elevated their game to live up to the promise they made us before the premiere: "You're not ready."

So sometimes that involves a little public exposure, which we're assuming comes with the territory when you're playing a character like Nick Sax. But just in case Christopher Meloni forgot about that "special bonding moment" with New York City, The Late Late Show host James Corden was there for a friendly reminder when the actor appeared on the late-night talk show – with Crazy Ex-Girlfriend star Rachel Bloom offering her perspective:

As you're letting all of that sink in,  here's a sneak preview of this week's episode, "Blitzkrieg!!!":

Happy! s02e04 "Blitzkrieg!!!": Who the hell is Dayglo Doug? Sax, Merry & Happy enter a geriatric death trap. Don't eat the jelly.

Written and executive produced by Brian Taylor and comic book writer Grant Morrison, SYFY's series is based on Morrison and Darick Robertson's comic book series, starring Christopher Meloni, Patton Oswalt, Christopher FitzgeraldPatrick Fischler, Ritchie Coster, Lili Mirojnick, Medina Senghore, and Bryce Lorenzo. Both Lorenzo and Fitzgerald were promoted to series regulars with the second season. Neal Moritz, Pavun Shetty, and Toby Jaffe of Original Film, Meloni and showrunner Patrick Macmanus will also executive produce; and the series hails from  Universal Cable Productions (UCP).

"Happy!" is based on New York Times best-selling author Grant Morrison and Darick Robertson's graphic novel of the same name. The series follows Nick Sax (Christopher Meloni, "Law & Order: SVU") – an intoxicated, corrupt ex-cop turned hit man – who is adrift in a world of casual murder, soulless sex and betrayal. After a hit gone wrong, his inebriated life is forever changed by a tiny, relentlessly positive, imaginary blue winged horse named Happy (Patton Oswalt).

Season 2 begins with Easter on the horizon –a season of hideous pastels, dye-stained fingertips and a general "who really gives a f***" attitude. A newly sober-ish Sax finds himself struggling with the demands of family and fatherhood. He has sworn to do right by his ex-wife, Amanda, and his daughter, Hailey, which means no booze, sex, drugs or killing. Happy, meanwhile, is resigned to keeping his partner on the straight and narrow while coping with the fact that a maturing Hailey can no longer see him. Sax's fresh start will be tested by a familiar enemy: Sonny Shine, who is on a mission to Make Easter Great Again (MEGA) with the help of his demented Easter Bunny henchman.

Joing the cast this season are Hollywood stage and screen legend Ann-Margret as former siren of stage and screen Bebe Debarge; Paul "The Big Show" Wight as Mr. Blue's (Coster) cellmate-with-benefits Big Pink; and Curtis Armstrong's Dayglo Doug, a clown/child host who finds himself reduced to performing at a retirement home… for nazis?!?

Our friends at TVLine had the exclusive first-look at the character 'Weird Al' Yankovic will voice during this season: Smoking Man Baby. Toxic masculinity in a diaper, Smoking Man Baby is a jealous, volatile baby blowhard with full tats and a cigarette always dangling from his mouth.
