IDW Launches Kickstarter for Wynonna Earp Season 3 Blu-Ray

IDW Entertainment has launched a Kickstarter to sell the Blu-Ray for Wynonna Earp Season 3, the company revealed in a press release Monday. It looks like IDW is asking the beleaguered fans of the cult-favorite show to shell out a minimum of $37 plus shipping and handling to obtain a copy of the 2-disc, 12-episode set. The long-awaited fourth season of Wynonna Earp was finally announced to debut on Syfy next year, but for a while, fans were unsure whether the show would continue, with IDW suffering from ongoing financial difficulties. Now, it's fans who can suffer from financial hardship by funding the production of this Blu-Ray set from an entertainment corporation whose latest quarterly financial report listed their assets at over $90 million.

Even if you can't afford the $37 minimum pledge to get an actual copy of the Blu-Ray, you can still pitch in your hard-earned cash at lower reward levels like the $15 Ghost River Triangle Booster Club reward, which gets your name on a thank you page on the Wynonna Earp Season 3 Blu-Ray and some digital behind-the-scenes content. On the other end of the spectrum, $2,500 will get you a tour of the Season 4 set during filming. Whether a major media company should ask funds to pay for the production of their Blu-Rays may be a question for another day, but those fans do seem interested, with just under 200 backers raising nearly all the capital required just hours after the campaign launched.

LOS ANGELES, CA – September 30, 2019 – IDW Entertainment (IDWE), a franchise studio division of IDW Media Holdings Inc. (OTC: IDWM), announced today the Kickstarter campaign for "Wynonna Earp: Season 3 Blu-Ray", the award-winning series created by Emily Andras and based on the IDW comic created by Beau Smith, offering Earpers never-before-seen material and one-of-a-kind superfan experience opportunities.

"Wynonna Earp: Season 3" on Blu-ray is currently available for pre-purchase on Kickstarter at https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/idwentertain/wynonna-earp-season-3-blu-ray?ref=1x0aix. The Blu-ray set will include:

2-Disc Set Edition
12 Episodes

Tons of bonus material and never before seen footage and so much more!
Backer achievements are not only based on how much this campaign raises, but on social media goals and much more. This is so IDW can give Earpers the chance to get involved with the campaign without needing to back financially. Seventy percent of all contributions will be used for the mastering, printing and production of the Blu-rays themselves, 20% will go toward additional backer rewards and all the logistics of getting them to a fulfillment center and the remaining 10% will be the standard safety for a project like unexpected tariffs.

"This campaign is all about getting Earpers to keep fighting," said Allison Baker, Director of Social Marketing & Franchise Content, IDWE. "We're making additions to the campaign based on all sorts of activities for fans to get involved with, regardless of how much money they contribute."

In July, IDW announced that "Wynonna Earp" was greenlit to start production for its fourth season. SEVEN24 Films is slated to begin production early next year and Season 4 is expected to debut in Summer 2020 on SYFY in the US and Space and Crave in Canada. Cineflix Studios has come aboard to co-produce with Cineflix Rights handling international sales for all four seasons of the series. SEVEN24's Jordy Randall and Tom Cox, in addition to Cineflix's Peter Emerson and Brett Burlock, serve as Executive Producers of the series along with Todd Berger and Rick Jacobs.
