Schitt's Creek got a very brief idea of what the future could have held for the comedy series, as series co-creator and actor Dan Levy revealed it may have gotten a sequel. Levy was the subject of a profile interview on CBS Sunday Morning this past weekend, in which they examined his new Netflix series, Big Mistakes, set to debut on April 9, as well as his career. When the subject of Schitt's Creek came up, Levy revealed he'd been pondering doing a sequel to the series until the passing of Catherine O'Hara.

Part of the interview had Levy returning to Goodwood, Ontario, the place where the series's fictional town was filmed. Levy confirmed that with O'Hara gone, there will never be a sequel, but he had been thinking about making one. "It's tough. It's tough being back. I didn't think that I'd have quite an emotional reaction. […] Just a lot of memories, a lot of memories with Catherine. It's what you have to hold onto is the memories of it all." CBS's Anthony Mason quipped back, "And an incredible clip reel," to which Levy replied, "An incredible clip reel. Listen, for someone who was not on the internet, she knew how to meme."
