"The Good Place" Season 4 "Employee of the Bearimy" Lets Tahani Be the Fixer She Was Born to Be [SPOILER REVIEW]

So, Glen is a bucket of goo, Jason and Michael are heading to Hell on a hand cart, and it's the most magical time of the afterlife again: Demon Con! So in other words, just another day in NBC's The Good Place.

Eleanor is running the neighborhood, Chidi is having issues coming out of his shell, and operation: rescue good Janet from The Bad Place is in full swing.

Oh, and Tahani is having a slight crisis of identity with her place in the world – er, afterlife.

Since Bad Janet was found out and trapped, that leaves nobody to run the neighborhood – which is basically kept afloat by Janet, seeing as she runs all the residents who aren't our four main humans and our four test humans. With her gone and Bad Janet detained, the responsibilities of running the neighborhood fall to…Derek.

Oh, boy. This is going to go…well?

And by well, I mean terribly. I mean, what do you expect from someone drinking a champagne glass full of Scrabble letters?

As a way to get the humans out of town and away from all the impending chaos of Derek, Eleanor has Tahani escort the humans to a secluded lake house away from the neighborhood…except Chidi decides that swimming in the lake scares him. As does everything.

The greater problem here is that he's not stepping out of his comfort zone – he's staying in and reading, and not having fun or branching out.

Also Tahani kind of goes off the rails as she realizes that her assignment is to basically throw a party and play hostess whilst Eleanor keeps everything together and creatively solves problems and comes up with solutions on the fly.

Michael and Jason get to Demon Con and crash Shawn's speech, convincing him that it's Vicky in the Michael suit and Glen in a Jason suit here to demonstrate new torture on good Janet.

They get good Janet out there and everything is going well…until real Vicky in the Michael suit shows up, and she is pissed that Shawn replaced her. Uh oh! They're found out!

But it doesn't really matter, because Janet saves their asses with a demon killer gun thing, just like bad Janet used to turn Glen into goo! They goo Vicky and the demons applaud, thinking it's all part of the show, and Shawn just stands there, face full of goo, pissed.

So long, Shawn! It's back to the neighborhood for real Janet, Jason, and Michael.

And yes, Jason and Janet are back together and it's adorable. However…Bad Janet told him a bunch of lies, but she wasn't lying about Blake Bortles being cut from the Jacksonville Jaguars.

No! But – there's a silver lining: they replaced him with Nick Foles. Dip, that dude totally won a super bowl! Foles forever!!!

That's one thing settled, but what about Chidi and Tahini, and the rest of the neighborhood?

Well, Eleanor tries to get Chidi out to the lake house without seeing all the chaos of a Derek-run neighborhood, and Tahani tries to help, but makes it worse by convincing Derek to reboot himself.

That makes for streets full of "dead" Janet baby neighborhood residents. Talk about messy and horrifying. So, Eleanor thinks on her toes and makes it all into a game for Chidi – blindfold and all!

And then Tahani tells him she stabbed a unicorn – er, regular horse. In the head. With a horn.

Tahini Al Jamil has officially cracked.

See, Tahani is jealous that all she was trusted to do on Earth was throw parties, and now it's the exact same here in the afterlife.

However, Eleanor explains that that's what she's good at; if the world were to rely on Eleanor to throw a fancy party to save humanity, everything would be royally forked. Like, completely.

Eleanor is good at coming up with solutions on the fly because that's what she did on Earth – she had to fix all manners of messy life problems with creativity and lies and ingenuity. Tahani smoothed everything over and fixed her problems with parties and making nice.

So going into next week's episode, we have Derek 2.0 (or 4million.0 – I don't know what version of him we're on by this point, Mindy rebooted him like, 80 trillion times), real Janet back, and everyone working together.

What could possibly go wrong?

Catch the final season of The Good Place Thursday nights on NBC.
