Waller Episode Count, Script Status, Cast & More Rumors Debunked

James Gunn shut down a pretty big rumor drop regarding the episode count, script status, cast additions, and more for Waller.

If the rumor mill is any sign of the level of interest that fans have in a project, then DC Studios & Max look like they have a hit on their hands already with Viola Davis-starring Waller. Earlier today, we reported on DC Studios co-CEO & Superman: Legacy writer/director James Gunn shutting down rumblings that Amanda Waller would be showing up in "Legacy." Of course, Gunn can't shut down every rumor that's out there – just as much as we can only do so much to knock down the misinformation. But this one was different because it was one of those instances where the amount of details and how they were presented really does make it seem like it could be true. But it looks like it's another example of how quantity doesn't always mean quality – with Gunn offering the following response when asked if it was true: "Not at all, no. Sorry. More soon."

So here's a look at what was being reported: Season 2 will consist of 13 episodes – with most of the scripts having been written and casting already underway. In addition, Phil Abraham (Hunters, Sons of Anarchy) has been tapped to direct the first two episodes of a season that will be split into two parts – the first premiering in Spring 2025 and the second in the fall. Freddie Stroma will return as Vigilante, with Sean Gunn appearing as Maxwell Lord, and theater star John Douglas Thompson & Ivanna Sakhno (High Fidelity, Ahsoka) were cast in supporting roles. But again, it's all just speculation – nothing more:

Serving as a "continuation" of Max's John Cena-starring Peacemaker (with Gunn currently writing Season 2), Waller is being executive produced & penned by Jeremy Carver (Doom Patrol) and  Christal Henry (HBO's Watchmen). Now, here's a look back at Gunn shutting down the rumors that Waller will be appearing in Superman: Legacy:
