Sunday Runaround – Mixing Pop Art And Politics, He Asks Me What The Use Is..
PoliticsWatch: The Hill looks at cartoonist Nicholas Ivan Ladendorf running for Congress in Missouri as a Progressive Party candidate.
What comic book or comic strip character do you think you're most like?
I didn't want to get too obscure, but I have to say Nomad. Mainly because his sidekick was his daughter that he wore in a baby carrier. Nomad also works because he was supposed to be the next Captain America but he was a little too noir and got canceled.
Who in Washington do you think is easiest to draw in caricature?
Whoever most earns my annoyance. The more you draw someone, the more shortcuts you come up with for representing them. That said I remember John Kerry [D] being the easiest to draw, but I'd have to go back and look at how good of a drawing that was to know for sure.
Would you consider submitting bills in cartoon form?
That would be one way to get them to read the bills before signing them, wouldn't it? I would consider doing it, but comics take time, and I would spend a lot of time obsessing over a good visual cue for "whereas." Maybe a preamble comic strip…
What skills do you think would be transferable to Congress?
I am good at figuring out what people are really saying and figuring out their motivations. That's a key skill if you are seeking to reach a concession without caving or hoping the other side caves.
In one sentence, summarize why you're running for Congress.
The empire has no clothes.
SportWatch: I still don't understand any of this.
BurkaWatch: The Guardian profiles The 99 – but manages to ignore characters such as Dust from The X-Men.
JobWatch: Viz Comics wants a comic book salesman…
ExclesiorWatch: Stan Lee appears at a Detroit comic book convention next weekend.
AuctionWatch: Meltdown Comics are auctioning off the parallel universe prop covers used on the show Fringe for charity.
PigInADressWatch: The Calgary Herald profiles Glamor Noir... and makes it sound as attractive as a pg in a dress.
Turner is president and CEO of Calgary-based Meridian Merchant Capital Canada, an investment banker with a global reach who has created and managed loan and equity portfolios over a billion dollars. He's been nominated for Ernst and Young's Entrepreneur of the Year four times.
But he's also an author, songwriter, radio host and, most recently, the executive producer of an ambitious multimedia interactive detective thriller about a narcoleptic gumshoe and former felon who can see crimes in his dreams.
This is The Bleeding Cool ComicChron Robot speaking. I come for your women. But for now I merely collate comic-related bits and pieces online. One day I will rule. Until that day, read on.
They say I am a work in progress. The fools.

The Walking Dead TV-Series Premieres On BitTorrent
In recent years, however, PREAIR releases have become a rarity. Before the start of the fall season of 2010, the only notable PREAIR leak was a Weeds episode. Despite this declining trend, there are still a few notable releases that are worth mentioning, such as the premiere episode of The Walking Dead that surfaced online yesterday.
Shop Tools by Marvel Comics? | Winthrop & Weinstine, P.A.
Last Friday, MVL Rights, LLC, a Disney subsidiary and apparent owner of rights in the HULK name and character of Marvel Comics origin, filed a lawsuit in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Ohio against Airbase Industries, LLC regarding Airbase's use of HULK in connection with air compressors. [Insert obligatory Hulk-angry-lawsuit quip here.] The first newsflash I read reported that Airbase's HULK-branded compressors are green (like the Marvel Comics Hulk character). Even so, without further investigation, knowing only the word marks (identical) and goods and services of the parties (fictional character vs. air compressors), and potential color similarity, I reserved initial judgment, envisioning a host of scenarios that could cut in different directions, for or against either party.
Max Allan Collins revisits 'Road to Perdition' | Celebrity Sentry
MAX ALLAN COLLINS was, in a word, skeptical. First, he got a call that Steven Spielberg and producers Richard and Dean Zanuck were interested in his 1998 graphic novel, "Road to Perdition." next, he heard that Tom Hanks was going to star as mob enforcer Michael O'Sullivan. Then, that Paul Newman would play patriarchal crime boss John Looney. "I thought it was a practical joke," Collins recalled. "What's next, (director) Sam Mendes coming off 'American Beauty'?"
Macon artist Ray Snyder has become one of comic industry's best inkers – Sunday Features – Macon.com
Johnson quotes Snyder saying the only meaningful reasons to take a job are for love or money. The work you do for love doesn't usually pay, but it fulfills you. The work you do for money doesn't usually fulfill you, but it pays. Their history of work together has been full of money jobs, usually cranking out monthly books when time is precious. No time to think or feel. It's just a job that has to be done.
