Atoll Moves From Heavy Metal To Vault Before An Issue Is Published, And Court Of The Dead Is On Hold (UPDATE)
Heavy Metal Magazine has just suffered a spate of cancellations of solicitations in this week's Previews catalogue. So we decided to ask what was what.
The comic Atoll by Tim Daniel, Ricardo Drumond, Joana LaFuente and Adam Wollet about an Olympic athlete and her tech billionaire husband who are kidnapped and are forced into combat with a Great White shark for entertainment, has moved to new publisher Vault before an issue was published. All three issues from Heavy Metal have been cancelled.
Daniel has told us
"With Fissure already placed at Vault, it opened my eyes to what it meant to have a fully-engaged, creatively-energized, and ambitious publisher involved, one whose goals were aligned with their creators. With one book experiencing such a smooth development process, it made sense to relocate not only The Atoll, but all of my forthcoming titles as well as my production services."
So there.
Sideshow has decided to put a hold on their Court of the Dead comics, as they expand their IP into other categories. All four issues from Heavy Metal have been cancelled.
Hoax Hunters is being resolicited in revised format, not yet solicited.nd ReincarNATE moved from collecting the previous Kickstarter series to an ongoing series currently in the catalog.
