STARZ's 'Outlander' is Skipping SDCC For NYCC This Year

We are saddened to report that STARZ hit series Outlander is skipping a stop at this year's San Diego Comic Con (SDCC) to instead visit New York Comic Con (NYCC).  This is disappointing for numerous reasons.

This is the first time stars from the series will attend NYCC, a landmark visit after three seasons of the show. Entertainment Weekly first announced the news, and the official Outlander twitter confirmed the info with a retweet of a Deadline article about the same tidbit, even though the source article is now gone.

Series stars Caitriona Balfe, Sam Heughan, Sophie Skelton and Richard Rankin will be attending the event, which will more than likely include a panel. We're also expecting showrunner Ronald D. Moore to make an appearance with them.

Executive producers Maril Davis and Toni Graphia accept the Saturn Award for best Fantasy series on behalf of Outlander, 2017.

Series Executive Producer Maril Davis also commented on the situation on her twitter:

For me personally this is disappointing, as I don't ever get to attend NYCC, and am a HUGE fan of the tv series based on Diana Gabaldon's work, as well as the novels themselves.

The Outlander clan will be in residence at NYCC on Saturday October 6th.  The convention runs October 4th-7th at the Javits Center in Manhattan.
