Bettie Page Comes to London in November from Dynamite

David Avallone talked to Bleeding Cool about Bettie Page coming back in a third series written by him for Dynamite Entertainment. And now we get the confirmation that a) it's happening, b) it's set in London, and c) will be drawn by Julius Ohta.

Bettie's back in action with an adventure story that will keep readers guessing. The brand-new Queen of England has vanished, and MI6 believes UFOs were involved. Bettie is loaned out to British Intelligence to help investigate. By misadventure, she also ends up impersonating Elizabeth the Second…and hijinks ensue. It's "The Prince and the Pauper", or rather, "The Princess and the Pin-Up."

"Writing the first Bettie Page series was pure joy, and I'm thrilled to be reunited with her for this great new series. I had more stories to tell with Bettie, and now I get to tell them," said writer David Avallone. "Bettie will be visiting 1952 London and helping out another heroic, spunky brunette in her late twenties who's in over her head… Queen Elizabeth the Second. Plus MI6 and UFOs and other acronyms. It's going to be a lot of fun!"

Bettie Page has long been a staple in comics, dating back to her debut in the 1980's when Dave Stevens based the Rocketeer's girlfriend "Betty" on the iconic leading lady. Dynamite Entertainment's ignited Bettie Page's return to comics in 2017 with writer David Avallone's first series, the self-titled, Bettie Page.

The first issue of Bettie Page delivers a wide selection of cover variants, providing fans and retailers a chance to collect the whole set! The cover artwork features the talents of John Royle (G.I.Joe), Scott Chantler (Two Generals), David Williams (Justice League of America), Julius Ohta (Sherlock Holmes) and a photo cover respectively. Additionally, a blank Authentix cover will be available for fans wishing to commission their favorite artist to sketch Bettie Page. An Atlas Edition will also be available for fans wishing to have their issue signed by writer David Avallone.
