Former WWE CEO Linda McMahon Will Quit Cabinet to Chair Trump Super PAC

Pro wrestling moguls Vince and Linda McMahon were amongst the biggest donors to Donald Trump's 2016 presidential campaign, and when the dust settled and the WWE Hall-of-Famer was elected, Linda McMahon was rewarded with a spot on the Cabinet as the head of the Small Business Administration. McMahon will now step down from that role, but not because she's lost the favor of President Trump or even due to the opulence scandal she was involved in back in 2017.  Instead, McMahon will continue her service to the President by heading up the America First Action super PAC for Trump's 2020 re-election campaign, Politico reports.

McMahon will join Trump at Mar-a-Lago this weekend to discuss the campaign with donors, and an announcement could be made at that time. McMahon has been floated as a potential replacement for Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross, but that will need to be put on hold as McMahon once again helps Trump attempt to win the presidency. What high-level government job will the two-time Republican Senate candidate win in return for her service after that?

We may need to wait until 2021 to find out.

The McMahons aren't the only billionaires at the top of a fan-favorite entertainment company to dedicate themselves to helping their friend, Donald Trump, attain political power. Marvel Chairman Ike Perlmutter and his wife Laura were also major donors to Trump in 2016, with Laura Perlmutter going on to join Trump's inauguration committee and Ike Perlmutter becoming involved in the Department of Veteran's Affairs, which he has been accused of running as part of a shadow council.
