College Football Players Leak Info on Next Call of Duty
While we won't be getting an official reveal of 2019's Call of Duty for another few weeks (they tend to announce those in May), a group of College Football players decided to beat Activision to the punch.
From Dexerto's report:
On April 23, several college football players were invited to try out the yet-unnamed 2019 Call of Duty game somewhere in Nashville, Tennessee.
Several players posted spoiler-free images of their experience on social media, and the Call of Duty sign could be seen hanging on the wall in the background. All of the posts each included the hashtag #CallofDutyPartner in the caption.
One of the posts was a video featuring Florida State running back Jacques Patrick and Georgia wide receiver Riley Ridley seemingly enjoying what they were experiencing with the new CoD game.
The video was then posted to YouTube, where some are saying the words "killstreaks" and "Modern Warfare 4" are said, but it's far from a proper confirmation.
However, we've had rumors that the 2019 edition of Call of Duty, which is being developed by Infinity Ward, will be the fourth installment in the popular Modern Warfare sub-franchise for months now. The rumors started with an ambiguous social media post back in January and have snowballed since.
Activision and Call of Duty have a pretty terrible reputation for leaks of their new game. Call of Duty: WWII was practically announced in an investor call months ahead of the official reveal in 2017 while rumors had Black Ops 4 pegged in February of 2018. So Modern Warfare 4 being leaked in January would be a bit earlier than usual, but still rather on-schedule for the Activision leak cycle.
That said, we won't get an official word on the 2019 CoD until mid-May.
