New York Comic-Con Goes Until 10pm, Thursday to Saturday, Will Sell Fewer Tickets

The New York Comic Con is undergoing a few changes for its 2019 show, running from Thursday, October 3rd to Sunday October 6th.

It's still being held in the Javits Center, it still spreads itself around the city into locations such as the Hudson Mercantile, Madison Square Garden, and the New York Public Library.

Changes include moving the Anime Fest from Pier 94 to the closer-to-the-Javits Hudson Mercantile. It will also purposefully be selling fewer tickets, 200,000 compared to last year's 230,000, bringing back the four-day pass and allowing ticket resales through Lyte.

It will also be extending its opening hours. Previously, panels ran until 8pm, in 2019, they will be adding two hours across the board, to 10pm, from Thursday to Saturday. The growth in panel content is, it seems, courtesy of the TV/film/anime side and reflects a number of later night screenings, as well as increased book publisher panels and author signings, moving from the Hudson Mercantile to the Javits. This will include Penguin Random House launching a Penguin Random House Book Club promotion at the show, giiong away advance copies of book club titles before the show.

The show will also be the convention debut of Bill Jemas and Axel Alonso's Artists, Writers & Artisans Inc, the publisher you first read about (repeatedly) on Bleeding Cool…
