Which Trees Must You Beware Of, In Incoming #1 Then? (Spoilers)

So Marvel Comics published Incoming #1 yesterday. With codes and conundrums to be deciphered. The first was deciphered in the comic by Mister Fantastic (though Arno Stark got there first) as Beware The Trees. Another one was All Hail The King. There are plenty of candidates for that latter position, but the trees seem to be a more pressing matter, considering what happened to Racksorand General Bel-Dann.

Incoming #1

First of all Racksor picked up an apple. Original sin, tree of life, and all that.

Incoming #1

Chekhov's apple, of course. As Jude always has me say, pip pip…

Incoming #1

It all goes a bit Swamp Thing all of a sudden.

Incoming #1

Which is never pretty. But who is to blame? There are a few possibilities, if we can believe everything on the surface level here. The Xartan Deviants who first appeared in Journey Into Mystery #90 back in the sixties, are aliens who can shapeshift but also copy superpowers.

Something someone wearing the Eternity Mask would just confuse in a feedback loop.

Thor also beat them by making them turn into trees, including the thought patterns of trees, never to pose a threat, and remain as hostages on Earth against any future invasion.

And, yes, a little like what happened to the Skrull cows in the Fantastic Four. Just the kind of reference Al Ewing or Mark Waid would go for. Could Raksor have eaten one of those apples from a Xartan tree, deliberately placed?

Other candidates might also be the Cotati or the D'Bari. But I'm plumping for a more Xartan lifestyle…

Incoming #1 was published yesterday from Marvel Comics. I bought mine from Piranha Comics in Kingston-Upon-Thames. Piranha Comics is a small south London comic store chain with a small south-east store in Kingston-Upon Thames's market centre, which runs Magic The Gathering nights on Fridays, and a larger south-west store in Bromley, which also runs Magic nights and has an extensive back issue collection and online store. If you are in the neighbourhood, check them out.
