A First Stab at a New York Comic-Con NYCC Party List 2018

These are still early days. And early doors. But here's a first stab at a New York Comic-Con Party list for 2018. If you want your event listed, please do get in touch. We run details of open and private events so that everyone can get a diary for what happens when the convention stops, and it spreads out across Manhattan. We'll run a more comprehensive list next week.

MONDAY, October 1st

We The Heroes Ball 2018, Rockbar NYC, 85 Christopher St, 9-11pm, 21+, $7, $10 on the door, Superhero-themed drag show We The Heroes Ball returns with performances by award-winning and nominated LGBT talent, including NYC's own FiFi Dubois, Hazel Tart, Lee Valone, and so many more. Enter a raffle at the show to win amazing prizes including 2 one-day passes to each day of NYCC!  All money raised at the We The Heroes Ball will go towards the Trinity Place Shelter to help NYC LGBT homeless youth

TUESDAY, October 2nd

NYCC Presents: Sci-Fi Explosion, Rockbar NYC, 85 Christopher St, 7-8.30pm, 21+ $5.  Join host Chris Cummins (Den of Geek, Music Video Book Club) and his special guests as they take you on an out of this world journey packed with some of the most hilarious science fiction-themed video clips you've never seen. With prizes from NECA Toys, Quirk Books, MVD Entertainment, Insight Editions, Abrams ComicArts, and more!

WEDNESDAY, October 3rd

GeekLifeRules: NY Cosplay Cabaret™ III: Road to NYCC, Broadway Comedy Club, 53Above Broadway, 318 West 53rd Street, 7.30-8.45pm. Performers and patrons alike are invited to dress in costumes from pop culture featuring songs and parodies from your favorite genre TV series, films, comics and musicals done in cosplay. $10 in advance, $15 week/day of show.

The Fifth Annual Doctor Who Costume and Trivia Contest, The Way Station, 683 Washington Ave, Brooklyn, $10 7 – 8:30pm 21+. Hosted by Chris Cummins, prizes from Big Finish, NECA Toys, Running Press, Titan Books, MVD Entertainment, Insight Editions

SCAD NYCC Alumni Networking Event, The New York Beer Company 321 W. 44th Street. Join Professor Tom Lyle and fellow alumni and industry professionals for networking and to share NY Comic Con stories. Make new connections and expand your network. RSVP by 10/01/2018. This event, hosted by the office for career and alumni success, is free and open to SCAD alumni.

Mashfest NYCC 2018 Kickoff hosted by SONICBOOMBOX and Mashfest NYC 8pm-1am, Mcgettigan's NYC70 West 36th Street.  21+. Admission: $10 in advance, $20 cash only at door. Kicking off NYCC off Mashfest-style with drink specials, fighting games & much more.

Kaiju Big Battel is a modern conflict of epic proportions. Evil villains, menacing alien beasts, and giant, city-crushing monsters threaten to destroy the planet Earth.
