Advance Reorders – What A Wookie!
Greetings from the coal face of the direct comics market. Where retailers try to increase their orders of certain comics ahead of sale. Where supply and demand and most accurately reflected, where you can see which books are hot, where new orders are coming in and how retailers are reacting to new, unanticipated desire!
A new Hildebrandt cover for Deadpool Vs Thanos pushes that up the chart, as does the price point of the Neal Adams Batman Omnibus. But it's Star Wars that dominates with another issue of Shattered Empire and the first two issues of Chewbacca attracting plenty of attention, and outperforming on the advance reorder stakes Amazing Spider-Man and Captain America White.
Both Figment 2 and Beauty get bumps for their second issues, Beauty still in the chart from last week thanks to a new cover. Strong performances for Justice League and the launch of Tokyo Ghost.
But with Doctor Strange and Extraordinary X-Men, not as many of the All-New All-Different Marvel relaunches as I might have expected…
