FOC Alert: This $6.99 Avengers Digest Could Be The Most Legacy Marvel Comic Released In August

Archie has released a preview of the Avengers Digest issue of Marvel Comics Digest. In stores on August 2nd, the final order cutoff for retailers is Monday, July 10th, so Archie is hoping a little taste of what's inside will get retailers to order more of these $6.99 books.

But while a Marvel comic priced over five bucks isn't unusual, this one is remarkable not only because it's published by Archie, but for the value contained within. Much like June's Spider-Man issue, the digest contains five classic issues of Avengers – Avengers #1-2 and Avengers #235-237, plus some issues of Marvel's various all-ages Avengers comics of the past decade.

A creative team including Stan Lee, Jack Kirby, Roger Stern, and Al Milgrom blows homage covers out of the water. And all of this weighs in at 224 pages. Wow! You can't even get that in a bi-quarterly $9.99 Deadpool book! This comic is so good, it will even be sold in supermarkets!
