Just last month Bleeding Cool reported on the start of Barnes & Nobles efforts to sell more DC graphic novels (or DC to get Barnes & Nobles to sell more of their graphic novels, who knows where this ouroboros starts…) by doing exclusive editions of a few of their upcoming hardcover graphic novels.
These exclusives include Batman Damned HC, Batman Who Laughs HC, and coming Tuesday, October 29th, Wonder Woman Volume 1 The Just War HC. Which we'll show some of that content here (including the sketch pages and a few script pages):
Well now we have four new exclusive Hardcovers coming, following each other week after week almost, in November, and probably trying to get some Christmas shopping interest:
First, on November 12, 2019, SUPERMAN: YEAR ONE (B&N Exclusive Edition)
This Barnes & Noble Exclusive Edition includes an exclusive lithograph and pencils of the first issue.
From legendary writer Frank Miller comes a groundbreaking, definitive treatment of Superman's classic origin story, with art by John Romita Jr.
This story details new revelations that reframe the Man of Steel's most famous milestones–from Kal-El's frantic exile from Krypton, to Clark Kent's childhood in Kansas, to his inevitable rise to become the most powerful and inspiring superhero of all time.
Frank Miller (Batman: The Dark Knight Returns) and John Romita Jr. (All Star Batman) use their celebrated backgrounds to bring a fresh perspective to Superman's origin, in a story that will live on as the pivotal Superman story.
The next week, THE FLASH: YEAR ONE (B&N Exclusive Edition)
This Barnes & Noble exclusive edition includes a lithograph, variant cover, and 8 bonus pages of scripts.
Superstar writer Joshua Williamson continues his explosive run on The Flash! Go back to the very beginning of Barry Allen's journey in The Flash: Year One!
Barry Allen feels helpless in his life in Central City. As a forensic scientist, he's always catching criminals after they've committed their crimes. All that changes one fateful night when Barry is struck by a bolt of lightning and doused in chemicals. When he wakes from a coma, he realizes he can run at incredible speeds. Can Barry master these powers and be the hero his city needs…or will the powers burn through him?
And the last two on November 26, 2019:
This Barnes & Noble Exclusive Edition contains an exclusive lithograph.

This Barnes & Noble exclusive edition includes a lithograph, variant cover, and 8 pages of variant cover art.

(This comes out the following week after the Local Comic Book Shop day exclusive does.)
And because DC shouldn't be the only one doing exclusive graphic novel content for Barnes & Nobles, besides Image, Titan Comics gets in the game the same week as Flash: Year One with:
This Barnes & Noble exclusive edition includes has a variant cover and 16 bonus pages, including a script to art feature, an interview with the writers, a brief history of Blade Runner, and an unpublished concept drawing.
Return to the original world of Blade Runner, as veteran Blade Runner Aahna "Ash" Ashina takes on a new case to find a billionaire's missing wife and child, apparently kidnapped by Replicants for dark purposes….
Welcome to the rain soaked world of Los Angeles 2019 – a dystopic world of Replicants, Spinners and hardboiled future noir. Veteran Blade Runner Detective Aahana "Ash" Ashina finds herself in a race against time to find a billionaire's missing wife and child before they are gone forever. With her only suspects being renegade replicants, she's out for blood.
Written by Micheal Green, screenwriter of Blade Runner 2049 and more, Blade Runner 2019 is the first officially sanctioned sequel comic the 1982 film.
So apparently the upcoming Black Label releases from DC will all get Barnes & Nobles exclusives, lithographs seem to be the main thing for each edition, and we can expect to see a lot more of these DC exclusive hardcovers as we enter 2020. Though which other companies will start doing them? We've got DC, Image, and Titan Comics so far…
