In July 2014,  legendary illustrator Bernie Wrightson was admitted into hospital after a series of small strokes. In December he underwent surgery for the removal of a brain tumour, and subsequent tests saw him undergo radiotherapy and then chemotherapy in June last year.

While he had to cancel a number of the comic book shows he would have attended, he still went to many and kept working.

This week, Liz Wrightson had an update, and it wasn't exactly good news. She writes,

I hope you will join us sharing our warmest wishes, thoughts and prayers to Bernie, Liz and the rest of his family and friends.  Bernie's scheduled appearances for the rest of the year are

Oct 22-23 Memphis CC – Memphis TN
Oct 28-30 Alamo City Comicon – San Antonio TX
Nov 12-13 Bakersfield Comicon – Bakersfield, CA
