Bleeding Cool Bestseller List – 22nd February 2015 – Justice Smashes Silk
This is the Top Ten Bleeding Cool Bestseller List, as compiled by a number of comic stores from their sales on Wednesday and Thursday. It measures what are known as the "Wednesday Warriors", those who can't wait to the weekend to get this week's comics. We salute you, and the keenness you bring to your passion.
Justice League #39 surprisingly tops out the much hyped Silk #1 to the top, and both beat out Jim Lee's take on Grant Morrison's Multiversity. Uncanny X-Men also gets a bump, beating out Batman Eternal for the first time in a while…
And Lady Mechanika made quite the surprise appearance as well…
- 1. Justice League #392. Silk #1
- 3. Multiversity Mastermen #1
- 4. Uncanny X-Men 31
- 5. Batman Eternal
- 6. Batman & Robin #39
- 7. Lady Mechanika #4
- 8. Rocket Raccoon #8
- 9. Legendary Starlord #8
- 10. All New Captain America #4

And this is what they said,
Not a good week for comics for us. Freezing cold weather here. Hard to sell new comics on Wednesday and Thursday when the weather east of us caused the shipment to be delayed. Make things even worse the nearest stores received their new comics Thursday while we still were still waiting. Really on the short end of the UPS shipments. Let's hear it for Darth Vader 1! Still selling.
Amazing Spiderman's current series back issues is seeing movement. Suicide Squad is all the buzz still. Current and first series.
Silk #1 was the clear winner, especially since it completely sold out with in 8 hours. The rest of the titles did what they normally do, no other book hitting huge #'s.
Batman Eternal early issues are on the move. I assume since we are 6 weeks away from the end that people are on a race to catch up on the issues with the end now in sight.
The rest of the back-issue market was dominated with purchases with key issues that came into the store.
Lady Mechanika knocks out Silk for 1st place and Bitch Planet takes 3rd. Marvel only gets one comic in the top ten while DC gets 4. Woman driven comics continue to drive our Business.
Harley Quinn continues to be 20% of our weekly sales and Lady Mechanika #4 shatters all previous #1 indy sales in volume. We continue to see Marvel and DC sales drop and Indies continue to captivate more new readers.
A solid week in comics for sure! Some heavy hitters from all the major companies this week! Silk #1 did great, but didn't beat out Uncanny X-men for our #1 Marvel book, proving Bendis is going to have a lot of sad fans when he leaves the X-books! Justice League seems to be selling more and more with each issue. Not only are people loving the dynamic of having Luther and Captain Cold on the team, but the legend of Jason Fabok grows and people cannot get enough of his stuff. Millar & Fegredo's MPH finished up with a double sized last issue and man was it great. It sold great, like every book Millar does. Our customers love any project with his name on it. Customers could not be happier to have Lady Mechanika back too. Each issue has been flying off the shelves!
Star Wars & Darth Vader. Regular issues. Variants. You name it. They want it. Star Wars fever has begun and it's not stopping any time soon!
