Captain Marvel #12 Will Settle Thor Vs Carol Danvers Forever

A lot of people dismiss superhero comic books as nothing more than people in naked body-hugging lycra beating each other up, delivering a visceral thrill to a stalled-adolescent audience seeking a power fantasy. And they're usually wrong. Usually.

In the case of the upcoming, much-hyped and much-reordered Captain Marvel #12, however, they may have a point.

Bleeding Cool has had a sneak peek at the comic book in question. And it probably isn't that spoilery to say that it is nothing but an extended fight scene between Thor and Captain Marvel. You want to know who would win in a fight? This comic book has that fight – and then definitively shows you who wins.

Will the collective fanbase of either Thor or Captain Marvel lose their head? Possibly. Even folk who have read the solicitations and think they know what's coming may have eyebrows to raise on reading. But despite all the re-orders, this feels like a comic book that will sell out on publication and hit the walls at $10 to $0 a pop, faster than, well, Batman Damned #1.

It's not out for a couple of weeks, so you have time to make sure your comic book store puts one aside. But maybe make that call today, yes?
