After the Fire, Comics Folk Are Helping Conny Valentina
Last week, Bleeding Cool talked about Australian comic book cover artist Conny Valentina who had seen her house burn down, taking the lives of her pets and her art collection.
A GoFundMe campaign has been started, which has seen a number of comic book industry figures make direct donations. Stanley 'Artgerm' Lau donated £1000. Comic art dealer Lou Haberman donated £200, as did Art Adams and Joyce Chin. Comic art dealer Peter Sambucci donated £150 as did Indonesian illustrator Rudy Siswanto. Cavewoman artist now working for Marvel, Paul Renauld donated £100 as did Doctor Strange writer Mark Waid and fantasy sculptor Jordu Schell.
Other contributors include Mitch and Elizabeth Breitweiser, Jeffrey Moy, Ruth Fletcher Gage, Suzanne Marsden, Katie Jones and Alan Brennert. Currently they have raised over £5000, or around $6600.
While an art auction appeal has also begun. Here are a few of the many pieces that have been donated to raise money to help Connie.

Siya Oum – Jessica Jones Unused cover art, mixed media 11×17 on art board, ships from CA.
Ryan Benjamin – 11×17 on art board, trading card art Rain Forest Crunch Gen 13 power pack #46, ships from Italy.
Sorah Suhng – Null Fairies 5 cover, pencil/ink on 11×17 art board, comic included, ships from PA.
