Dave Sim to Publish Cerebus in Hardcover Starting With High Society
There are very few things that might persuade me to part with my Cerebus phonebooks. This may be one of them. Waverley Press is to begin publishing Cerebus in hardcover, beginning with the most popular Cerebus collection, the second volume, High Society.
This will be the first time Dave Sim's Cerebus will have been collected in hardcover – well, if you don't count the French and Spanish editions. Or the custom-bound copies. Anyway.
High Society: The Regency Edition collects issues 26-50 of Cerebus with "32 additional pages of rarities from the Cerebus Archive."
It will also be limited to 150 sets, which is probably Dave Sim's entire reading audience now, each signed by Dave Sim, and "accompanied by a collection of unique "Artifacts" including a poster, signed print, and a special anniversary edition of Cerebus No. 26, all created exclusively for this edition, and housed in a bespoke slipcase."
No price yet. But I would expect a relatively high one for all that. And no news if there are any plans for a mass market hardcover collection of three hundred issues and 6000 page long, creative pinnacle of craft and art, highly influential upon an entire industry, and even-at-the-time-problematic comic book epic.
