DC Comics Opposes Titan's Trademark For "Titan Comics"

DC Comics' Teen Titans superhero team have appeared since the late sixties, on and off. Now they have two books out, Teen Titans and Titans...

Titan Publishing Group only came along in the eighties. But, as part of the same group as Forbidden Planet, have established themselves as a major force in the comic book industry.

However, they have run into a bit of trouble with the name of the company.

And a recent attempt to register the trademark for Titan Comics has run into opposition from publishing rival DC Comics. Ironically Titan Books has a distribution deal with DC Comics, getting their trade paperbacks into  and bookstores.

Could this affect the relationship? What about with Forbidden Planet?

And it's not like DC Comics are the only ones that Titan comics have trouble with. They are also being opposed by the NFL, over a conflict with Tenessee Titans…
