Doomsday Clock #9 Rewrites Magic in the DC Universe (Spoilers)
Doomsday Clock #9 is having a busy week. The unauthorised sequel to Watchmen published by DC Comics has had Donald Trump tweet out how much better he is than Superman, looked at how the DC Universe will be looking in the very near future and has rewritten Firestorm's origin along the Supermen Theory conspiracies.
So why not utterly rewrite what magic is in the DC Universe? There are plenty of magic users to choose from, sorcerers, demons, ghosts and the like. And in Doomsday Clock #9, they all get a little daytrip to Mars along with everyone else. And a meeting with Dr Manhattan. Though so far from home, something has gone very wrong with John Constantine's 'fooken' accent.
And a new definition of what magic is, to DC Comics.
Just for reference, this is what Alan Moore thinks magic is. It's art. It's writing. It's actual creation rather than what's left over.
Gotta say, I prefer that to the scraps of computer code. Bit too much like The Matrix…
Will we need a new Books Of Magic?
