Gary Frank Has Finished the 47 Page Final Issue of Doomsday Clock #12 – All On Track For December 18th

I had the chance to chat with Gary Frank at MCM London Comic Con this weekend, as he has concluded his work on the unauthorised sequel to Watchmen, Doomsday Clock, written by Gary Johns and published by DC Comics.

He posted about the final page being scanned the other day…

…and confirmed that he has finished the 47-page final issue of the series – including a very small amount of back matter. And that all is currently on schedule for the planned publication date of December 18th – the last week that the series could have been published and still be in 2019. Going to be a big day for DC Comics, that one.

He has yet to watch the HBO Watchmen show but is pleased that they got in there first in Watchmen sequel terms so that no one will think that they took anything from the show.

And now begins to return to the Batman Earth One – also written by Geoff Johns, also published by DC Comics. But with a more forgiving schedule.

Here are a few pages of original art he's showing off at the show. Maybe I should buy one?

Just as long as I don't confuse him with Jim Shooter – as the show did…
