Gerry Duggan has written a letter to comic stores, delivered by Diamond Comic Distributors and Diamond Daily. For those who didn't get a copy — or the promise within — here is his pitch for Analog and for Dead Rabbit, both coming from Image Comics. And this is from a man who began working at Golden Apple Comics in Los Angeles, before moving to Attack of the Show.
My first job was in a comic shop when I was in seventh grade. I helped the owner sort, grade and price comics he would buy from garage sales and flea markets. It's where I fell in love with comics. I dreamt about making comics, and you've all help to make that dream come true. Thank you for supporting my collaborations over the years.
I've been lucky in collaborators my entire career, but never more so than right now. Analog is a labor of love for both myself and David O'Sullivan. It's a thriller set after a mass doxxing when the only safe way to transmit secrets is to do it the old fashioned way—on paper. Ledger Men and Women can be hired to move sensitive information around the globe—or die trying. The comic is a noir/action/thriller about spies, mercenaries and rogue government operatives. Our first volume is nearly six comics worth of content for 9.99. It ends up having some laughs, too. I'm proud of the comic, and helped wrench on the screen story with a talented writer named Ryan Condal. Right now he's busy on the adaptation for director Chad Stahelski who's directing John Wick 3.
October 3, 2018 is a big day: our trade arrives along with the debut of another ongoing comic I'm ecstatic about: Dead Rabbit starring the sublime work of John McCrea and the colors of Mike Spicer. It's the story of a thief that went straight for the love of a woman, and now years later he's putting his work mask back on to try and save her life. It's DNA belongs to classic noir, Robin Hood, Unforgiven, and the classic action-comedies that John and I are known for. We hope that this comic is an easy sale for you with our Deadpool & Hitman fans. Here are the first three issues of Dead Rabbit, and the first collection of Analog. I hope you, and your customers enjoy both.
We want to make ordering Dead Rabbit as easy as possible by making it returnable. See the Diamond listing for more information.
Our second arc will have a connection to real-world Boston lore that I hope will generate interest outside our normal demo. Thanks in advance for your continued support of both books. Hope they help make the end of the year great for us all.
Duggan is also coming to a store or show near you (possibly) as part of the Dead Rabbit/Analog signing tour…

DEAD RABBIT #1 CVR A MCCREA (MR)
(W) Gerry Duggan (A/CA) John McCrea
Back in the '90s, DEAD RABBIT was a prolific Boston stick-up man and hoodlum, until he took down one last big score and disappeared. Nobody ever discovered the truth: he retired to be with the love of his life. Now he's back in the mask to save her, but no one-not his wife, the mafia, or the cops-is happy that he's out of retirement.
From JOHN McCREA, the artist and co-creator of MYTHIC and Hitman, and GERRY DUGGAN, the writer of ANALOG and Deadpool, comes the action-comedy-drama tale of Martin Dobbs, a.k.a. DEAD RABBIT, the man who says he's descended from one of the original gangs of New York City.
