Han Solo, Still the Man Who Shot First, in Marvel's Star Wars #59 (Spoilers)
The biggest difference between Star Wars and Firefly, at least thematically, is that Star Wars merges traditions of samurai storytelling with the American Western while Firefly goes Full West. By removing the light sabres in Solo: A Star Wars Story, Lucasfilm made it far more of a Western, closer to Firefly and out of some people's comfortable places. And today's Star Wars #59 comic book from Marvel Comics doubles down on that, with a duel held at High Noon.
BWell it's probably noon somewhere. And Han Solo in the gunslinger role. Of course he's been in a similar situation before. And we get down to the details of Ten Duel Commandments…
So we're doing this. But Han has a certain reputation to maintain by hook or by crook. And, naturallu, by crook.
Han shoots first. It's all he knows….
