How Widespread Are TMNT: Last Ronin #1 Bleached Misprint Comics?
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Last Ronin had a rocky road to publication. Written decades ago, repeatedly delayed, with changes being made after a preview was released, then finally published this week – but with 20% fewer copies than had been ordered. Copies were exchanging hands for $50 before publication, but have now settled to an average $20 a piece with higher prices for some of the (many) retailer exclusive variants.
But there may be another issue, as a number of copies appear to have been printed by IDW with a peculiar misprint, with pages that look bleak. Courtesy of Dennis Barger, here are a few examples of the affected pages.
The question for retailers with such copies is, do they return them to IDW, in the knowledge they have no first prints to replace them with? Or sell them as rare Bleached Variants? As ever, the marketplace will decide.
