If You Read Batgirl – You Must Read The Next Two Issues Of Gail Simone's The Movement
On Wednesday, well over twice as many people read our spoileriffic article on the final issue of Green Team: Teen Trillionaires… than read Green Team: Teen Trillionaires. As a result I'm told a number of stores rapidly sold out of the comic. Those copies that they'd bothered to order…
Shame it couldn't have come sooner.
The second lowest selling DC New 52 title, launched alongside Green Team is The Movement. That comic is still published, and the ninth issue is out next week. A fun teen superhero comic that empowers an underclass of character is written by Gail Simone, and features for the next two issues Batgirl. It's a full-blown crossover that DC Comics seem to have forgotten telling too many people about.
Basically, if you read Batgirl, you need to read The Movement for the next two issues as well. That is if you can find a copy. Because ICV2 estimates have Batgirl selling 35,000 and The Movement selling 7000. You can do the maths.
Oh, also, it features a superhero in a wheelchair. So there's that?
More? I'm told that one of the characters "is getting laid".
So that should be fun too.
The Movement #9, by Gail Simone and Freddie E Williams, published by DC Comics on Wednesday. If you can find one.
