Instead Of Free Comic Book Day, A "One Euro" Comic Book Weekend, To Fund Comics In Schools And Hospitals
On May 6th it will be Free Comic Book Day, with 52 comic books being given away for free in comic stores across the English speaking world (and beyond).
But on April 7th and 8th, the French BD industry is doing their own thing. 48hBD will see 230,000 copies of comics from 12 publishers will be available in 1500 bookstores in France, Belgium and Switzerland for one euro each.
The money collected by 48hBD will be used to fund comic books being placed in schools, colleges, libraries and hospitals.

La Quête d'Ewilan Vol 1 : D'un Monde à l'autre (Glénat)
Leo Loden Vol 6 : Pizza aux pruneaux (Soleil)
Les Filles au Chocolat Cœur cerise (Nathan)
Levius (Kana)
Mes Cop's Vol 1 : Des Copines à l'appel (Bamboo)
Survivants Épisode 1 : Anomalies quantiques (Dargaud)
Fifteen city libraries will have 200 comic book creators appearing to promote their work. There will be 600 posters in the Paris underground – as well as information across 20,000 underground maps. While 1000 additional albums will be donated to ten hospitals.
