Joe Ollmann To Create Covers And Comic Book Introductions For William Seabrook's Books Brought Back Into Print…

Joe Ollmann is working on an over-300 page graphic novel on the life and times and notorious travel journalist William Seabrook.

Seabrook was the man who introduced to concept of the "zombie" to Western culture, through his book The Magic Island in 1929, ensuring his name in cultural history.

And Dover Publications, currently bringing a bunch of comic books back into print are doing the same to The Magic Island and the rest of Seabrook's work.

Which is also why Dover asked Ollman if he would create new cover art and short comic bokk introductions for each title, as Ollman has become an expert on Seabrok during his research.

The first book from Dover is one of Seabrook's later books, Asylum. In an attempt to sure himself of alcoholism, Seabrook admitted himself into what was then called an insane asylum, and then wrote about his experiences as he would visiting a strange and distant land.
