Key Walking Dead Issues Get Blind Bag Edition Variants for Walking Dead Day

Do you enjoy buying variant covers, but feel that actually seeing them before you hand over your money takes some of the fun out of it? Well, you're in luck, pal, because Image Comics has announced that, in celebration of Walking Dead Day on October 13th, the Walking Dead's fifteenth anniversary, they will be releasing a series of key issue reprints with brand new variant covers by the likes of J. Scott Campbell, James Harren, Emma Ríos, Declan Shalvey, Sana Takeda, and "other exciting to-be-announced artists." The catch: they're all inside black polybags, which means you can't see exactly which version you're getting: a regular variant, a sketch variant, or a virgin variant.

"I say, I say, this initiative will give Walking Dead fans what they want," said Walking Dead co-creator Colonel Robert Kirkman in a statement that was not included in the press release, but definitely happened in our imagination. "Which is me having more money."

To that end, you might also be interested in the previously announced 15th-Anniversary Box. There are retailer variants too.

The variants will be available for $3.99 each in October.  Here's the issues included:
